Describes how the University uses the Higher Education HASMAP standards to assess its management of health and safety
Heads of departments must put in place arrangements for managing their activities, to ensure the health, safety and welfare of those affected. The specific arrangements will differ from one department to another, but all should follow health and safety policy statements. The Health and Safety Management Profile (HASMAP) audit system has been developed in order to assess the effectiveness of these arrangements. It is endorsed by the Universities and Colleges Employers’ Association and is recommended to Vice-Chancellors.
The Safety Office manage the program of HASMAP audits across the University. The policy outlines how these are arranged, undertaken and reported.
